Eric graduated from Yale University, lives in New York City, and is the author of two biographies worth mentioning, Amazing Grace and Bonhoeffer. Amazing Grace tells the story of William Wilberforce who fought to end the British slave trade and Bonhoeffer, the story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer who fought to end Hitler's assault on the Jewish people. The latter is a New York Times #1 bestselling book and he's written many others as well.
His latest book is called Miracles and while I'm only just getting into it, I'm quite happy with where it's headed.
Eric Metaxas is also one of the funniest people in the world (according to probably no one but me). And while this may sound silly, just try watching some of his videos and not laughing ... and good luck! It won't be easy. I'm sure he could be a successful comedian if he wanted to. This was what initially drew me to him and is something that keeps me coming back. I love his ability to make almost anything funny and enjoyable. He's incredibly witty and it's just fun.
I admire the affairs he involves himself with and his conduct. He's a people-person at heart and a sincere one at that. He's doesn't seem afraid to offer new and refreshing ways to look at things when talking to people of entirely different mindsets. He's delicate in his approach and sensible as well. And it won't take you long to see that he's very, very smart ... and yet, he doesn't use his intellect to shame or embarrass people. I find that honorable.
